Environmental Planning Lead

We are seeking a seasoned Environmental Planning Lead to spearhead the approval process for large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects in NSW and beyond.

The Role

You will be responsible for shaping the environmental outcomes of nationally significant developments, managing SSD/SSI and EPBC approvals, leading EIS/DA submissions, and guiding biodiversity and cultural heritage assessments. Your expertise will also include mentoring junior talent and influencing strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead approvals for major renewable energy and infrastructure projects across NSW and beyond
  • Manage SSD/SSI and EPBC approvals
  • Lead EIS/DA submissions
  • Guide biodiversity and cultural heritage assessments
  • Mentor junior talent
  • Influence strategic planning
Requirements
  • 4+ years in environmental planning, ecology, or impact assessment
  • Proven delivery of full EIS/DA submissions for large-scale projects
  • Strong grasp of BAM, EPBC, FFG Act, LEP, SEPP, and SSD/SSI pathways
  • Experience interpreting ecological data and identifying environmental risks
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Ecology, Engineering, or Planning
Bonus Skills
  • Ecology fieldwork or biodiversity offsetting

  • GIS mapping and biodiversity calculator tools
  • Experience in renewables or transmission infrastructure
