Our client is a leading provider of specialized chemistry and services to the industrial sectors of the Asia Pacific region.
The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Chemical Engineer to lead our Water Treatment team in Queensland, based in the South East Queensland region. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of Water Treatment Specialists who service a diverse range of industrial clients across the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and technical support to the Water Treatment team
- Promote and maintain a positive safety culture within the team
- Work with a skilled Laboratory team to develop and implement treatment programs that provide valued solutions for clients
- Conduct consultancies for clients relating to the treatment of water for use, reuse, and release across various industry sectors, including mining, power, and utilities
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure high levels of service delivery
- Identify and pursue opportunities to expand business within the sales region, both within existing clients and through new business development
- Manage the business against budget through regular financial reporting
- Develop and grow existing accounts to maximize sales potential and customer loyalty
Your Skills and Experience
- Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or minimum 10 years of experience in water treatment or related chemicals industry
- Proven experience in the mining, power, water, or related heavy industry sector
- Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to prepare and present complex data
- Deep understanding of chemistry and industrial processes
- Existing leadership experience, with a proven track record of managing teams and driving business growth
- Strong financial management skills, with the ability to manage a profit and loss statement
