Salary Package: $110k - $120k + Super
Role Highlights: Reporting directly to the Senior Project Finance Analyst and collaborating closely with the CFO, this role involves delivering comprehensive project cost performance analysis and reporting for the organization and broader Executive Leadership Team through precise attribution, financial oversight, and reporting.

Role Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will apply a philosophy of continuous improvement in managing and coordinating cost management systems, ensuring a reliable source of truth for each project component while fostering innovation and best practices in financial reporting and controls.
Embracing challenges, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting project costs against deliverables, ensuring timely communication of potential issues and effective resolutions.

Key Duties:

  • Support the Senior Project Finance Analyst in executing comprehensive financial project delivery across key clients and initiatives.
  • Provide functional support for project cost control across multiple revenue-generating projects within the delivery teams.
  • Prepare monthly project claims, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all claimable work.
  • Capture and assess all variations from a financial perspective to include in monthly claims.
  • Establish new projects within the financial system.
  • Assist in the integration and transfer of project data within the finance ERP system and related spreadsheets.
  • Contribute to the development of periodic financial scorecards and project-level performance reports.
  • Monitor and report on actual and forecasted costs to manage financial exposure within the project office across the portfolio and individual projects.
  • Ensure alignment of budget, commitments, and costs, adhering to business rules for financial data validation, and monitor that all payments are related to properly approved contracts, claims, and variations following governance structures.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to provide insights into profitability and identify opportunities for financial improvement.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar project-focused organization.
  • Previous experience in project accounting within a high-volume project environment.
  • Strong understanding of costs and business drivers across diverse organizations.
  • Knowledge of operations and their financial implications.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Proficient in Excel and financial systems, with strong IT skills in Power BI/data extraction being highly regarded.
  • Ideally experienced in a construction or project-based setting.
