Key Role: Airport Operations Lead

The airport operations lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of scheduled operations. This individual oversees the operational performance, supports day-to-day activities, and leads by example to maintain high standards of customer service.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Proactively identify and manage operational issues, mitigating any impacts to customers and operations.
  • Coordinate aircraft movements with multiple stakeholders, including JOCC, Jetstar Engineering, airport authorities, ground services providers, and other key parties.
  • Operational oversight of ground service providers ensures timely delivery of services.
  • Plan, develop, and implement projects related to aircraft turnaround services, focusing on tactical, operational, and strategic improvement initiatives.
  • Support domestic and international operational performance management, driving consistency in achieving safety, on-time performance, customer satisfaction, and financial deliverables.
  • Act as a secondary escalation point for problem resolution and disrupt management, upholding customer service delivery in line with brand values.
  • Coordinate operational turnaround requirements to ensure alignment with the Precision Timing Schedule.
  • Build strong relationships with airport leaders, stakeholders, and suppliers to drive day-to-day customer service standards and on-time performance.
  • Lead and maintain a skilled workforce aligned with business volume and targets, continuously developing on-shift performance management of team members.
  • Enhance awareness among team members regarding OH&S, aviation safety, and security policies, promoting a culture of compliance and excellence.

  • Strong frontline experience with well-developed knowledge of airport operations.
  • Exposure to front-line team management.
  • Strong customer service orientation emphasizing service excellence and on-time performance.
  • Strong coordination background and experience managing conflicting priorities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining a strong service culture.
  • Results-driven approach delivering quality outcomes in a timely manner.
  • Experience working with shift-rotated work environments.
  • Collaborative approach engaging and influencing relevant stakeholders.
