Job Description

The role of General Manager Marketing and Commercial Services is a key executive leadership position at Gymnastics Australia.

This senior executive will elevate the sport's profile, commercial capability, and strategic positioning nationally by leading the Marketing and Commercial Services team to grow brand visibility, commercial revenue, and member engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement integrated marketing, communications, events, and commercial strategies.
  • Secure and service national commercial partnerships, negotiate media and broadcast agreements, and drive innovative digital and content initiatives to expand audience reach and engagement.
  • Deliver major national and international events, ensuring experiences showcase the sport and meet commercial and brand objectives.
  • Mentor high-performing teams, foster collaboration across the organization, and align marketing and commercial priorities with the broader vision.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record in revenue generation, sponsorships, media rights, and brand strategy.
  • Experience negotiating partnerships and driving digital content initiatives to grow audience reach and engagement.
  • Ability to leverage data, content, and partnerships to develop new products and uncover revenue opportunities.
  • Understanding of the intersection between elite and community sport and how it shapes commercial and engagement opportunities.
  • Strategic, inclusive, and results-driven leadership with the ability to mentor teams and build collaboration across stakeholders.
