Specialist Psychiatrist Opportunity

We are seeking a Specialist Psychiatrist to join our team in various locations within the Northern NSW Local Health District.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive Specialist Psychiatry services at primary and secondary facilities for optimal patient outcomes and community health through quality care.
  • Positions include:
    • Adult Inpatient
    • Adult Community
    • Consultation Liaison
    • Child and Adolescent
  • Lead clinical teams, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines for quality practice and education.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Psychiatrist and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways.
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in Psychiatry at the service's role delineation.
  • Accreditation as an ECT provider or willingness to work towards same for all adult-related specialties.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and provide leadership of a team.
  • Effective clinical communication through information technology and written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research, and quality improvement.
  • Availability to participate in on-call rosters and respond on site within reasonable times.
  • Valid unrestricted drivers' license for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel for some roles.
