Commercial Finance Associate

The Commercial Finance Associate plays a crucial role in driving business success by improving financial performance and collaborating with various teams. The primary focus is on delivering efficient commercial support to respective portfolio sectors, ensuring accurate and timely month-end closing processes, and conducting thorough reconciliations.

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering Commercial Support: Provide efficient support to respective portfolio sectors, enhancing overall business performance.
  • Month-End Closing Processes: Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end closing processes, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
  • Reconciliations: Conduct thorough reconciliations to identify and rectify any discrepancies, ensuring financial accuracy.
  • P&L Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements to identify key trends and areas for improvement.
  • Monthly Reports: Prepare and distribute monthly reports to internal and external stakeholders, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with key internal stakeholders to develop solutions that enhance financial performance and drive business growth.
  • Journal Entries: Create accurate journal entries as required, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Stock Take Reconciliation: Conduct regular stock take reconciliations to ensure accurate inventory levels and prevent potential losses.
  • Management Reporting: Prepare and deliver regular management reports, providing insights into business performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Report Development: Develop, prepare, and analyze reports to specifications, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Ensure accurate reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
  • Invoicing and Administration: Administer invoicing, receipt, and approval processes, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
  • Contract Compliance: Ensure adherence to contractual agreements, including price escalations and variations.
  • Commercial Terms Review: Review commercial terms to ensure alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Degree Qualification: Degree qualified or studying towards CA/CPA.
  • Accounting Experience: Previous accounting experience with a private/public company.
  • Microsoft Excel Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with ability to analyze complex data sets.
  • Multitasking and Prioritization: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex information to stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and record-keeping.
  • Positive Attitude: Positive 'can-do' attitude, with ability to work autonomously in a team environment.
