Role Overview

The Archdiocese of Brisbane is seeking a qualified and experienced Early Childhood Educator to join our team at St Joseph's OSHC Service in Nambour. As a Responsible Person, you will be responsible for leading the service in the absence of the coordinator, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership: Provide direction and support to staff, ensuring compliance with all regulations and policies.
  • Supervision: Oversee daily operations, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
  • Program Implementation: Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging programs and activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children.
  • Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with parents, staff, and children, fostering a positive community atmosphere.
  • Administration: Assist with administrative tasks, including attendance records, incident reporting, and compliance documentation.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure that all health and safety protocols are followed, and that the environment is clean and well-maintained.

Qualifications and Attributes

  • Education: Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an OSHC or childcare setting, with a proven ability to lead a team.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with children, families, and staff.
  • Availability: Flexible and reliable, with the ability to commit to split shifts as outlined.
