Job Summary

As an Electrical Field Engineer with Bechtel Corporation, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects. Your expertise in electrical engineering will be essential in ensuring that our construction activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare construction drawings and sketches.
  • Lead the preparation of construction drawings and schedules, and design temporary construction facilities.
  • Prepare, review, and approve Electrical work packages.
  • Implement Bechtel's Standard Work Process Procedures (SWPPs), project specifications, and procedures, applicable codes, and drawings to ensure that construction installation requirements are met.
  • Perform in-progress and final quality and completeness inspections of Electrical and Instrumentation installation.
  • Material Management: Initiate requisitions for field purchases, prepare quantity takeoffs of field-purchased material and equipment, review material receiving reports, and perform material receiving inspections.
  • Quantities: Verify commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required, and report on daily and weekly installed quantities to Project Controls.
  • Safety / Quality Control: Ensure zero accident philosophy and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craft and others when in the operational area, and tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Perform quality control inspections and manage associated Inspection and Test Records (ITRs).
  • Ensure completed work packages and ITRs are submitted to Turnover.
  • Technical: Proactively consider continuous learning or shows interest to pursue appropriate learning activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
  • Oil & Gas or LNG Project construction experience assigned as Electrical Field Engineer.
  • Direct Hire Experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment.
Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather.

Candidate must be able to use standard-issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e., respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).
