Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation of Construction Drawings and Schedules
    • Prepare and review construction drawings and schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Develop and implement procedures for the preparation and review of construction drawings and schedules.
  • Electrical Work Packages
    • Prepare, review, and approve electrical work packages to ensure compliance with project specifications and procedures.

  • Quality and Safety Control
    • Perform quality control inspections to ensure compliance with project quality standards.
    • Develop and implement procedures for quality control inspections.
    • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Material Management
    • Initiate requisitions for field purchases and prepare quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment.
    • Review material receiving reports and perform material receiving inspections.
  • Quantities and Reporting
    • Verify commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required.
    • Report on daily and weekly installed quantities to project controls.
  • Technical Expertise
    • Provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical field engineering activities.
    • Develop and implement procedures for the preparation and review of electrical work packages.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Requires a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
    • Oil and Gas or LNG project construction experience assigned as Electrical Field Engineer.
    • Direct hire experience, preferably in a lump-sum environment.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes, including Standard Work Process Procedures.
    • Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs), including Setroute, TEAMWorks, Aconex, DSCS, and Unifier.
    • Understanding of Electrical Equipment Hazardous Areas (EEHA) and related Australian Standards.
    • Excellent problem-solving ability.
Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include:

  • Extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site.
  • Climbing ladders and working at heights from work platforms, including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs).
  • Use of personal fall arrest equipment.
  • Walking and working on uneven surfaces.
  • Variable work shifts, including day, night, weekends, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
  • Work in inclement weather.

Candidate must be able to use standard-issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task.

This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.
