We are seeking highly motivated and dedicated veterinarians to join our dynamic team as Senior Veterinary Clinical Pathologist Trainees. As a trainee, you will be responsible for undertaking an intensive training program leading to specialist examination in clinical pathology.
- The first 12 months of the program involve a general pathology training period with exposure to both anatomic and clinical pathology.
- After approximately two years, you will be expected to undertake Phase I of the ACVP examination.
- After four years, you will be eligible to sit Phase II of the ACVP examination in veterinary clinical pathology.
- Training involves predominantly clinical cases; over time, you will develop the ability to report independently but with ready access to consult and seek consensus from other pathologists.
- Key duties and responsibilities include laboratory benchwork, haematology film reviews, scientist support, and interpretations of biochemistry, serology, urinalysis, endocrinology, and customer phone support.
- You will also be expected to attend and present at conferences and be an active part of the pathology community.
- Preparation of research or case publications is encouraged.
As a trainee, you will have access to a global network of experienced pathologists providing depth and breadth of knowledge and extensive mentor support locally and remotely. The pathology team fosters collegiality, collaboration, and professional development through regular case reviews using innovative digital technology.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain invaluable experience and build a strong foundation in veterinary clinical pathology. You will work in a busy commercial environment with great case exposure and thorough education opportunities, along with protected time for private study and journal reviews.
