External Communications Manager

This role offers a unique opportunity to craft and shape an organization's external narrative, fostering strategic communications initiatives while providing operational support to the communications team.

About the Role:

As the right hand to the Head of Global Communications, you will serve as a trusted advisor, stepping in across all communications functions as needed. Your key responsibilities include handling urgent communication requirements from leadership and legal, ensuring seamless continuity during critical periods.

  • Provide operational backup and maintain hands-on execution capability.
  • Support the Head of Communications with strategic planning.
Content Creation & Brand Storytelling:

You will create and manage content across owned channels, including company websites, blogs, social media, and executive team channels. This involves writing press releases, statements, and other external communications content that effectively positions the organization within its industry.

  • Transform business updates into external-ready content.
  • Draft talking points, speeches, and presentation materials for leadership.
Media Monitoring & Pitching Support:

Monitor media coverage and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and threats. You will develop compelling technology stories and angles for media pitching, particularly positioning the organization as a leader in its industry.

  • Develop story pitches, media materials, and press kits.
  • Support the Head of Global Communications with media relationship building.
Market Launch & Regulatory Communications Support:

Assist with launching products in global markets, coordinating communications strategies for new market entries. Develop market-specific messaging and content that addresses regulatory requirements.

  • Manage communications timelines and deliverables.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate has at least 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications, technology PR, or integrated communications roles. They must possess strong writing skills, experience with media monitoring and story development, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.
