Job Title: Cybersecurity Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to support our mission of technology for social justice.

This is a part-time (3 days per week), permanent role based in Melbourne, Victoria.

About The Role

As an experienced Cybersecurity Specialist, you will lead our information security program for customers and partners.

  • Oversee the design, configuration, and implementation of security standards for our Managed Services offerings, including Microsoft 365 and Azure.
  • Conduct security assessments and support customers during external audits.
  • Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security measures organization-wide.
  • Stay updated on security trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrate a strong desire to learn, innovate, and improve continuously.
Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing and maintaining robust security controls to protect customer data.
  • Providing technical guidance and support to customers and partners.
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging security threats and technologies.
  • Developing and implementing training programs for employees.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure effective security measures.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Proven experience in information security, with knowledge of frameworks and standards such as ASD's Essential 8, ISO 27001/2, NIST, and RFFR.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder management, requirements gathering, and negotiation skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+) are highly desirable.
