Family Support Specialist

The BUABAH model supports families from early gestation to early infancy.
As a Family Services Team member, you'll work closely with an Aboriginal Early Years practitioner and specialist practice leads.
You will link families with maternity and birth supports, key partners, and stakeholders to provide a comprehensive response to address their needs. This role empowers families to share their story in a culturally appropriate and trauma-informed manner, promoting self-determination through active involvement in decision-making.
- Culturally respectful and competent engagement with Aboriginal families and communities to foster and maintain cultural connections.
- In-depth understanding of pregnancy, birth, and infancy, with the ability to support families during these stages.
- Strong relationship-building skills to develop trusting relationships, set goals, and achieve them.

Key Requirements:- Valid Police Check
- A Working with Children's Check for a paid employee (or willingness to obtain)
- A Victorian Driver Licence
- Current COVID-19 vaccination (strongly recommended)
