Lead a team of midwives in the postnatal services department, providing high-quality care to new mothers and their babies. Oversee daily operations, manage staff, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver person-centered postnatal midwifery care, ensuring optimal outcomes and continuity of care.
- Support senior leadership in key duties, including team coordination, performance management, and staff development.
- Act as a clinical resource and role model, guiding less experienced staff and supporting student learning and orientation.
- Lead and participate in quality improvement, change management, and service planning initiatives within the unit.
- Contribute to clinical research, audits, and evidence-based practice to enhance care delivery and patient experience.
- Registered or eligible for registration as a Midwife, or Nurse/Midwife, with the relevant professional body.
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience as a Registered Nurse/Midwife or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
- Proven competence in midwifery practice aligned with professional standards.
- Experience supervising student midwives and less experienced registered midwives.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, ethics, and quality improvement systems within healthcare settings.
