Lead Maternity and Women's Health Services

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the future of maternity and women's health services in a dynamic healthcare environment.

This role offers a unique platform for an experienced senior medical leader to drive strategic change, innovation, and improvement in patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing high-quality, patient-centred maternity and women's health services.
  • Leading workforce planning, recruitment, education, and succession management.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and accreditation frameworks.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve service integration and redesign.
  • Driving research and innovation in models of care.

This role requires a clinically credible and experienced senior medical leader, with registration (AHPRA) and specialist qualifications in obstetrics, gynaecology, or a relevant field.

The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in change management, service redesign, and innovation, as well as a commitment to safety, quality, risk management, and evidence-based practice.

A proven track record of clinical and operational leadership in maternity and/or women's health is essential, along with high-level communication and negotiation skills.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, able to engage patients, families, clinicians, and government stakeholders in achieving better health outcomes.

In addition, they will demonstrate a commitment to equity of access, Aboriginal health outcomes, and culturally safe care.
