About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our Children's Therapies Team at SDN Children's Services. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing therapy services to children and young people with autism and developmental delays.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide behaviour support services to children and young people with autism and developmental delays in various settings, including hubs, homes, schools, and childcare centres.
  • Develop and implement individualised behaviour support plans to promote positive behaviour and improve outcomes for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, speech pathologists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive support to children and young people.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify the needs of children and young people and develop strategies to address these needs.
  • Provide training and support to families and carers to promote positive behaviour and improve outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements
  • University qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Education, or a relevant Allied Health field.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with children with disabilities or developmental delays.
  • Registration with the NDIS Commission as a Proficient Practitioner under the Positive Behaviour Capability Framework.
  • Current driver's licence with the use of your own vehicle (KM and tolls reimbursement available).
  • Strong ability to manage your time and meet targets (5 billable hours per day).
  • Understanding of the NDIS.
  • Valid Working with Children's Check (WWCC), NDIS Worker Check, and Covid-19 Vaccination.
