We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead our open pit geology team. The successful candidate will oversee all grade control activities and implement effective workflows to optimize ore recovery and minimize dilution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the open pit geology team
  • Oversight of grade control activities
  • Implementation of fit for purpose workflows
  • Optimization of ore recovery
  • Minimization of dilution

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in geology, with experience in leading teams and implementing processes. Additionally, they should be proficient in mining software, including 3D modeling and resource estimation methods.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or equivalent
  • Strong experience as a geologist in open pit gold mining, including leading a team
  • Proficiency in mining software, including 3D modeling and resource estimation methods
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sampling, quality assurance and quality control (QAQC), drillhole and database validation, block modeling, reporting and mine reconciliation
  • Familiarity with budgeting cycles and the preparation and development of budgets
