Job Title: Head of Discipline - Instrumentation & Controls

Wood Plc is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Discipline - Instrumentation & Controls to lead our engineering team in Australia & Asia Pacific West (APAC West). This is a permanent role available on a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving engineering excellence across multiple long-term engineering service contracts with our key clientele. You will lead an established team and report to the Head of Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Instrument & Controls engineering function, overseeing teams both locally and across the region in support of multi-discipline engineering projects on brownfield offshore / onshore assets.
  • Drive technical excellence and assurance on the Instrument & Controls engineering portion of projects across all disciplines to add value to the client and asset portfolio.
  • Balance client relationships and enable the ongoing development and growth of each Client Contract team.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field.
  • Proven experience in a similar Discipline Manager role with relevant experience in successful operational and strategic delivery for a complex contract/portfolio within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Expertise in engineering excellence with extensive knowledge of engineering theories and techniques.
  • Leadership skills with several years of supervisory experience.
  • Commercial acumen with the ability to negotiate and mediate.
  • Passion for energy security and energy transition.
  • Customer-focused with the ability to develop sincere and open relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
