Job Opportunity: Consultant in Geriatrics

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate consultant to join our team as a substantive specialist.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional clinical leadership and guidance to junior medical staff, nursing colleagues, and other multidisciplinary team members.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care and develop effective working practices within wards, outpatients, and A&E.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with tertiary centres, community services, and primary care providers.
  • Offer support and mentorship to junior colleagues, promoting their professional development and growth.
  • Participate in Clinical Governance, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Hold a MRCP or equivalent qualification and be registered on the GMC Specialist Register for Geriatrics and General Medicine.
  • Demonstrate evidence of completion of higher specialist training and detailed knowledge of Geriatrics and G(I)M.
  • Exhibit strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Display flexibility and a co-operative approach when working with colleagues and team members.

Subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, applicants will require submission for Disclosure to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB).
