Job Overview

The role of a Teacher Aide is to provide support and assistance to teachers in the delivery of educational programs.

This is a part-time position, working 48 hours per fortnight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the supervision of education activities under the direction of a teacher
  • Working with small groups as well as individual students
  • Communicating effectively and displaying high level interpersonal skills to function as an effective team member
  • Displaying respect and empathy for students with high needs
  • Displaying confidentiality, tact, reliability and sensitivity to students and their families
  • Required to work across all year levels from P - 6 in all areas of the curriculum

Additional Duties

  • Assisting with the management and stocktaking of equipment and resources
  • Undertaking clerical assistance duties including typing teachers' notes and programs, photocopying teaching materials, collation and duplication of exam papers, recording of examination results, compiling students' results records, assisting in organizing off-site activities
  • Assisting in preparing, storing, distributing and clearing away teaching equipment and materials
  • Contribute to the welfare, health and safety of students, including the delivery of first aid
