Clinical Director Role Overview

The Clinical Director is a key position within our organization that plays a vital role in driving clinical excellence and ensuring the highest standards of patient care. This leadership role requires an individual with exceptional clinical expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in managing nursing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists the In-charge of assigned department(s) in achieving organizational objectives
  • Maintains a standards-based atmosphere that promotes clinical competence and adherence to best practices
  • Actively participates in quality improvement projects to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
  • Responsible for nursing staff management, leadership, supervision, recruitment, and retention

Leadership and Management:

  • Facilitates open communication channels and ensures timely information sharing
  • Ensures professional orientation, performance appraisal development, and annual job description review are conducted in a timely manner
  • Participates in decision-making regarding promotions, transfers, and disciplinary hearings
  • Develops policies and work instructions relevant to nursing practice

Education and Research:

  • Promotes competency-based practice linking to performance evaluation
  • Assesses training needs of nursing staff and delivers general training courses
  • Remains current on healthcare and nursing issues at national and international levels

Quality Improvement:

  • Develops control mechanisms to ensure safe standards of nursing care
  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates service quality and initiates appropriate action
  • Monitors occurrence variance reports and investigates incidents

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Current practicing license from country of origin with Valid registration from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties as a senior specialist
  • Minimum eight (8) years nursing experience in an acute hospital setting with four (4) years experience in a leadership position
