Network Security Specialist Role

This position involves providing expert support for network and security-related products and solutions. The role encompasses performing network-based security risk assessments and assisting in designing new network and security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Offer assistance with configuring a range of equipment, such as Cisco, FortiGate, and Meraki devices.
  • Provide commissioning support for new sites.
  • Liaise with the Service Desk to analyze and resolve technical problems and prevent their recurrence.
  • Collaborate on Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) operations; perform ad-hoc network programming or software upgrades.
  • Communicate with customers and internal teams to resolve issues or study new offerings.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation for the design, implementation, and regular reporting of network and security solutions.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in network and security.
  • Proven expertise with technologies such as Firewalls, Routing & Switching.
  • Familiarity with network security technologies like NGFW, IPSec, SSL/TLS, NAT, IDS/IPS.
  • Hands-on experience in creating network design artefacts.
  • Understanding of SD-WAN and SASE technologies and solutions.
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, such as Azure and AWS.

  • Excellent prioritization, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills and attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Desirable qualifications include IT certifications, CCNA, CCNP Enterprise, CCNA Security, and/or NSE4 in Fortinet. Alternatively, 5+ years of relevant experience can be considered in place of a degree.
