Job Description:

The role of Senior Engineer Backup & Recovery is a pivotal position within our team, responsible for leading and supporting backup and recovery operations.

This individual will possess hands-on technical expertise and strategic leadership skills, focusing on daily operational excellence, capability development, mentoring, and environment design.

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the backup domain, you will play a crucial role in shaping our service offerings and ensuring robust data protection across client environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily backup and recovery tasks across diverse environments
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve backup-related issues to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Maintain documentation of backup configurations, incidents, and resolutions
  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient backup and recovery solutions
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to enhance service offerings
  • Develop and maintain best practices, standards, and procedures
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff
  • Deliver internal training sessions to upskill team members on backup technologies and processes
  • Act as a technical escalation point for complex issues
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders on backup strategy and architecture
  • Lead workshops and assessments to understand client needs and propose tailored solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backup strategies with broader IT goals
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in Commvault software suite
  • Strong understanding of storage systems, virtualization platforms, and cloud environments
  • Experience in designing and implementing backup architectures in hybrid or multi-cloud setups
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a passion for mentoring and knowledge sharing
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to service improvement
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
