English Faculty Leader

The role of English Faculty Leader provides a unique opportunity to augment educational leadership through a position of substance and influence within a thriving college community.

  • We are seeking a candidate committed to the Uniting Church Christian ethos within our community.
  • A current and detailed knowledge of the curriculum requirements for all subjects offered within the faculty, as well as demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge in managing curriculum issues and programs is required.
  • Ability to use a data-informed approach to design and implement a range of teaching and learning strategies to establish and maintain an inclusive educational environment, meeting the different learning needs of students, including the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning is essential.
  • Collaborative leadership to faculty members in planning, designing, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing assessment tasks, teaching and learning plans, and faculty processes is crucial.
  • Implementing relational support strategies to provide an optimal and engaging learning environment is a key responsibility.
  • Working productively and effectively with the Secondary leadership team in achieving shared goals is vital.
  • Demonstrating professionalism and discretion in relation to confidential matters and supporting Senior Executive decisions is expected.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including written and interpersonal, and the ability to create and maintain positive relationships based on respect and trust with students, families, colleagues, and the wider school community are essential.

This appointment will be for an initial period of 3 years, with a subsequent 3-year appointment subject to the continued designation of the position and a satisfactory performance review at the end of the initial period.
