Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Butcher to join our team at Costco North Lakes in Brisbane. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for providing exceptional member service, maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and ensuring the highest quality of meat products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt and courteous member service, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Inspect and reassemble equipment, sanitizing it from the previous night, and rework display cases to meet daily production needs.
  • Bring cases of meat from the cooler and empty contents onto the meat cutting or preparation area.
  • Cut and trim meat to Costco specifications using band saws and knives, operate tenderizing machines, and follow safety and security procedures.
  • Operate meat mincers, dump meat into the machine, and check fat content of each batch.
  • Transfer cut and ground meat to trays, load trays onto large plastic trays, and transfer to large wheeled racks for wrappers.
  • Clean and sanitize the area throughout the day, including the coolroom, and perform duties to comply with health regulations.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Assist with monthly stocktakes (inventory).

Requirements:

We require a fully qualified Butcher with completed Apprenticeship/Trade School preferred. Experience in a similar role is essential.
