Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher to join our team at Costco Wholesale. As a Butcher, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and working collaboratively with our team to achieve our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt and courteous service to members, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Inspect and reassemble equipment, ensuring it is sanitized and ready for use.
  • Replenish meat cases, rotating product to ensure optimal display and freshness.
  • Cut and trim meat to Costco specifications, using band saws and knives.
  • Operate tenderizing machines, following safety and security procedures.
  • Process meat, including mincing and grinding, to meet quality and consistency standards.
  • Transfer cut and ground meat to trays, loading them onto large plastic trays and racks for wrapping.
  • Assist with wrapping and stocking meat cases, adhering to merchandising plans.
  • Clean and sanitize the work area, including the coolroom, to maintain health and safety standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery.
  • Assist with monthly stocktakes (inventory) to ensure accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Completed Apprenticeship/Trade School preferred.
  • Must be a fully qualified Butcher with relevant experience.
