We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our Service team at Metso Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for workshop duties, including on-site mechanical repairs and inspections, to ensure our operations and workshop repairs can continue efficiently.
This position is located in Kalgoorlie and would suit a local resident. Domestic relocation assistance may be provided for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities- Repair and refurbish used pumps, as well as assemble new pumps in the Kalgoorlie service facility, in accordance with OEM procedures.
- Carry out hands-on service work, such as adjustments, installation, commissioning, and operation of pumps on and off customer sites.
- Conduct and/or assist with investigations of customer failures regarding quality, tolerances, specifications, and delivered conditions of products.
- Contribute to clients with technical evaluations and analyze equipment and machine component failures.
- Solve practical on-the-job problems, providing solutions to customers and mechanical crews.
- Promote company repair and service capabilities and obtain ongoing works.
- Promote the sales and usage of MO wear and spare parts.
- Identify sales opportunities for pumps and hydrocyclones.
- Experience with maintenance and/or rebuild/assembly of slurry pumps.
- Mechanical trade qualification with at least 2 years' experience, recognized in Australia.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, drawings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Hold a current motor vehicle license and be able to pass random medical and drug tests.
- Physically fit.
- Ability to travel with short notice.
- Ability to work away from home, for extended periods and extended hours, on weekends or as required.
- Current Forklift Ticket.
- Rigging and dogging qualifications.
