About the Role

This opportunity exists for an experienced Instrument Technician to join our Central Sterilising Supply Department at Cabrini Malvern or Brighton Campus.

You will work with cutting-edge sterilisation technology, collaborating with theatre teams, nurses, and surgeons to deliver seamless patient care.

The role involves decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging/wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments with precision, as well as monitoring and maintaining strict infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package/wrap, and sterilize surgical instruments with precision
  • Collaborate with theatre teams, nurses, and surgeons to ensure seamless patient care
  • Use and monitor Steam and Sterrad sterilizers, as well as maintain accurate records using electronic tracking systems
  • Process equipment owned by the hospital or sourced externally through our Loans department
  • Carry out testing for equipment and reprocess endoscopy equipment as required
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Instrument Technician with a Certificate III in Health - Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent.

Recent proven experience (12 months post certificate) is essential, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Strong communication and teamwork skills are also highly valued.
