About the Role

Samaritans is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Intervention Clinician to join our team. As a Family Intervention Clinician, you will be responsible for delivering clinical family therapy interventions to clients with complex mental health needs and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver Clinical Family Therapy Interventions: Provide evidence-based family therapy interventions to clients with complex mental health needs and their families.
  • Establish Clinical Service Pathways: Work with Central Coast Local Health District and Community Managed Organisations to establish clinical service pathways that enhance access to family therapy and support services.
  • Support Service Navigation and Access: Support clients and their families in navigating and accessing mental health services.
  • Develop and Strengthen Partnerships: Develop and strengthen partnerships with other service providers to enhance the delivery of family therapy services.
  • Provide Education and Training: Provide education and training to Central Coast Local Health District staff on clinical family interventions.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate Qualification: Hold a postgraduate qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Relevant Experience: Have relevant experience in delivering clinical family therapy services to clients with complex mental health needs and their families.
  • Assessment and Referral Skills: Possess skills in assessment, referrals, and coordination of care for young people.
  • Person-Centred Frameworks: Demonstrate the ability to use person-centred frameworks and a strengths-based approach in providing casework and counselling.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Possess highly developed interpersonal skills and an understanding of mediation and conflict resolution.
  • Negotiation and Communication Skills: Possess high-level negotiation, communication, and facilitation skills, including delivering education and presentations to staff and managers.
