The consortium comprising Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild is delivering the Stations, Systems, Trains, and Operations & Maintenance (SSTOM) package for the Sydney Metro-Western Sydney Airport (SM-WSA) project.

About the Role

This role reports directly to the Learning and Competency Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing, implementing, and continuously improving training, competency, and induction programs to align with our Learning & Competency Framework.
  • Customising and developing training and assessment materials in line with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Creatingsupporting documentation to help stakeholders understand our systems and processes.
  • Working closely with Business Leads to plan and facilitate training for operational teams.

This role plays a key part in ensuring our employees have the skills and knowledge they need to deliver exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Readiness Activities:

  • Create bespoke training materials in line with company and industry standards.
  • Localise global training content to meet project needs.
  • Develop online training materials to support readiness activities.
  • Review and tailor training materials to align with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with Business Leads to plan and deliver training for operational teams.

Support Testing and Commissioning & Operational Readiness:

  • Ensure compliance training is completed before project handover.
  • Develop induction programs for external stakeholders and manage their records.
  • Implement verification of competency processes for stakeholders, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Design and deliver ad-hoc training materials as project needs evolve.

Operations and Maintenance:

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Manage partnerships with training providers and Registered Training Organisations.
  • Support the Competency Management Plan, including recertification processes.
  • Maintain and audit training records in the RIW System and Learn&Dev platforms.
  • Oversee reporting systems and provide regular training statistics to leadership.
  • Identify emerging training trends and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct operational audits to ensure training compliance and relevance.
  • Manage training facilities, ensuring all equipment and spaces are fit for purpose.
