About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Injury Prevention and Management Specialist to join our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Directorate at The University of Western Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement injury prevention and management strategies to maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on health, safety, and wellbeing matters to management and staff.
  • Conduct investigations and follow up on reported hazards, incidents, and injuries.
  • Manage Workers' Compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs.
  • Provide case management services for injured or unwell employees with physical or psychological conditions.
  • Collaborate with management to plan, develop, and maintain injury prevention and management systems.
Requirements:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in an allied health profession (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, Rehabilitation Counselling) and professional registration with AHPRA, ASORC, ESSA or other suitable allied health governing body.
  • Sound knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health, Workers' Compensation, and Disability legislation.
  • Extensive experience managing injuries and workers' compensation claims, covering both physical and psychological conditions.
  • Ability to provide assessments, write reports, and make recommendations to management.
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex health conditions, including psychological conditions.
