We are seeking a highly skilled Injury Management Consultant to join our Health, Safety and Wellbeing Directorate at The University of Western Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in fostering a culture of health, safety, and wellbeing across our campuses and properties.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement injury prevention and management services for the University and its affiliates.
- Provide expert advice and consult on health, safety, and wellbeing matters for compensable and non-compensable cases.
- Collaborate with management of Faculties/Units to plan, develop, and maintain injury prevention and management systems.
- Conduct investigations and follow up on reported hazards, incidents, and injuries.
- Manage Workers' Compensation claims and coordinate return-to-work programs.
- Provide case management services for injured or unwell employees with physical or psychological conditions.
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in an allied health profession and professional registration with AHPRA, ASORC, ESSA or other suitable allied health governing body.
- Sound knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health, Workers' Compensation, and Disability legislation.
- Extensive experience managing injuries and workers' compensation claims, covering both physical and psychological conditions.
- Ability to provide assessments, write reports, and make recommendations to management.
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Directorate is responsible for the health and safety of staff, students, and other users of UWA's campuses and properties. We operate within the context of the Western Australia Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and the Workers Compensation and Injury Management Act.
