As a digital editor for our travel section, you will be responsible for creating high-quality content that meets the objectives of Qantas.

The ideal candidate will have experience in SEO/AEO best practice, data analysis, and content creation. They will work closely with the Managing Editor to understand Qantas objectives and develop content that meets their goals.

The role requires a digital all-rounder who is comfortable working across social platforms, EDMs, and search engine optimisation. A strong understanding of travel, editorial processes, and pressures of operating in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualise, create, and edit engaging content that meets audience expectations.
  • Work closely with the Managing Editor to guide content development and ensure alignment with Qantas objectives.
  • Help deliver on the multichannel content strategy, aligning with the Qantas brand and consumer to drive traffic growth.
  • Track search trends and data using tools like SEMRush to inform content decisions.
  • Optimise content for SEO/AEO best practice and user experience across multiple channels.
  • Monitor site performance and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Keep abreast of international best practices in content strategy and deployment.
  • Assist in managing editorial tasks.
  • Drive new ideas and innovation.

Requirements include 3-5 years of experience as a digital producer, relevant tertiary degree, and expertise in SEO, Adobe/Google Analytics, and CMS. We value courageous creativity and take pride in our people, our work, and our clients.
