Operational Management Specialist

As an Operational Management Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of a team. This includes workforce management, training and development, planning and logistics, compliance, team management, maintenance and operations, stakeholder liaison and engagement, organisational and process management, travel and incident response, quality management, WHSE and risk management, diversity and inclusion.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding and offboarding staff to ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Track staff competencies and analyse training requirements to provide appropriate training.
  • Support field technicians and schedulers with trip organisation and logistics.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and guidance in the course of your work.
  • Provide line management by mentoring, managing, supervising and developing staff.
  • Undertake occasional site inspections and maintenance of field equipment with training provided.
  • Oversee information requests queue and coordinate response from subject matter experts.
  • Represent the Bureau in a professional manner in accordance with APS Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Support organisational change, manage documentation, sharepoint site, support Quality Management system (QMS), support a strong asset management culture utilising the Enterprise Asset Management System (Maximo).
  • Smooth running of hub operations, undertake administrative tasks such as finance reconciliations, invoicing, procurement, inventory records, stores and stock control.
  • Occasional travel away from your home base is a part of this role. Occasional work and incident response support may require working outside of normal business hours including weekends.
  • Participate in ensuring the quality and effectiveness of products and services and the ongoing development, implementation and continual improvement of the quality management system.
  • Comply with all Bureau work, health, safety and environment policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own wellbeing and that of your team members, other employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
  • Understand and promote an inclusive environment that respects and values diversity and complies with the Diversity and Inclusion Statement of Commitment.
  • Undertake other relevant duties as required.
