Job Opportunity

We are seeking a Digital Content Specialist to create engaging multimedia content for various platforms.

About the Role:
  • Develop and produce diverse content, including news articles, features, social media posts, audio and video items, previews, and other materials in line with deadlines and industry standards.
  • Write and edit copy with speed, accuracy, and tone of voice consistency.
  • Assist in curating websites and managing social media accounts, including monitoring, moderating, and editing user-generated content.
  • Engage in clear communication with colleagues and team members, following instructions or giving advice as required.
  • Support innovative editorial ideas, developing and executing content plans and creative briefs.
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander current affairs and issues, Indigenous Cultural Protocol, and ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Developed digital content production skills, including researching, reporting, writing, editing, and producing in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent eye for detail, and demonstrated ability to work to timelines and manage long-term projects.
  • Ability to find new storytelling methods, creating original and engaging content, and re-purposing content in a creative way across mediums and platforms.
  • Strong skills in social media, with proven ability to generate content that is widely shared and leads to greater engagement with online audiences.
  • Understanding of web-based tools and experience using content management systems, and sound knowledge of photo editing.
  • Demonstrated ability to moderate and edit social media comments, forums, blogs, message boards, and live chats.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of front-end development methodologies, including HTML and CSS.
  • Knowledge or experience of broadcast media production.
  • Skills in video editing.
