Junior Accountant/Office Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Junior Accountant/Office Administrator. This position is ideal for someone with a foundational understanding of accounting and office administration who is looking to grow their career in a dynamic industry.

The successful candidate will provide support to our Chief Financial Officer with tasks such as accounts payable and receivable, processing invoices and purchase orders, reconciling bank statements and corporate credit card accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes
  • Process invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims
  • Reconcile bank statements and corporate credit card accounts
  • Process various journals, including department, project, and general ledger journals
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
  • Support internal communications and document distribution

In addition to accounting duties, the successful candidate will also be responsible for office administrative tasks such as maintaining office supplies, providing general office administrative support, and assisting with travel arrangements and meeting logistics.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated understanding of core accounting principles and compliance with regulations
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Experience with accounting software (preferably Xero, MYOB)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude
