Job Description

The Catholic Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle serves a community of approximately 150,000 Catholics across the Newcastle, Hunter and Manning regions. This region requires a Pastoral Ministries Officer - Worship & Prayer to join their Foundation Team.

This permanent full-time position is based at our Newcastle West office with plenty of parking. The successful applicant will work closely with the Manager of Worship and Prayer to accompany and engage the local Church.

The role involves developing supportive relationships between stakeholders, nurturing liturgical life, particularly Christian Initiation, and engaging others in collaborative processes grounded in dialogue.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Nurturing liturgical life, particularly Christian Initiation
  • Engaging others in collaborative processes grounded in dialogue
  • Developing supportive relationships between stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills

Requirements:

  • Tertiary studies in Theology and/or Liturgy
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Working with Children Check
  • Criminal background checks
