A Day in The Life

Responsibilities may include:

  • Maintaining agreed inventory levels to support all requirements for surgical procedures, in conjunction with the team leader and operations manager.
  • Restocking consignment sets for surgery to ensure inventory levels are maintained.
  • Maintaining communication and ensuring the correct management and scheduling of all kit resources to facilitate the loan kit technicians' ability to effectively pick, pack, and dispatch loan kits.
  • Supporting the trauma business and working as part of a 24-hour on-call roster shared amongst the team.
  • Preparing bookings to manage instrument sets and inventory levels for kits sent to hospitals.
  • Assisting with packing and checking of sets as required.
  • Supporting all Medtronic set assets (inventory and non-inventory) on the premises.
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of products for planning and triage of sets.
  • Completing quarterly stock takes of all products in the territories within given KPIs.
  • Managing freight providers for effective delivery of sets to meet surgical demands.
  • Following QMS for the loaner site in line with the Medtronic ISO13485 processes and published KPIs.
  • Complying with Medtronic's Quality, Finance, and Legal policies and procedures; responding to both internal and external audits.
  • Observing all health and safety policies and procedures and taking all reasonable care that actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others.

Must Have:

  • Previous experience in this field and vocational or technical education and advanced certification is preferred.

Good to Have:

  • Experience in medical loan kits with a strong track record of achieving and exceeding goals.
  • Ability to use computerized order entry and inventory systems, with experience with SAP being desirable.
  • Sound knowledge of stock control systems.
  • Computer literacy, including sound knowledge of the MS Office suite of software.
  • Customer-focused service to internal and external customers, with a strong customer service approach.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, as you will be dealing with internal and external stakeholders, including hospital sterilizing departments and operating theatre staff, as well as registrars and surgeons.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes pressurized environment.
  • A strong attention to detail and the ability to manage high-volume inventory.
  • Excellent leadership, a high level of self-motivation, and a commitment to being a leader within the team.
  • Excellent people skills, diplomatic, and customer-oriented.
  • Results-oriented, with a 'can do' attitude.
  • Ability to work autonomously but also as a team player.
