Your Business

As a Senior Audit Manager for Models, AI, and Data, you'll be part of a team that focuses on Model Risk, Data & AI across the bank. Your team will review the effectiveness of processes, controls, and governance that mitigate risks associated with internal, external, and regulatory obligations. You'll also provide support for Business Audit teams and share your expertise.

Your Role

You'll lead a team of subject matter experts with a strong background in Model Risk, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Management. Your team will provide objective assurance on risks and controls, working closely with Business Audit teams to ensure adequate coverage. You'll also collaborate with risk stewards, relevant departments, and line 2 to ensure appropriate coverage and continuous monitoring.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Manage reviews assessing Artificial Intelligence models and traditional models for accuracy, performance, regulatory compliance, and alignment with bank policies and risk appetite.
  2. Identify and evaluate model risks related to data, robustness, biases; ensure compliance.
  3. Design and execute validation testing to challenge model assumptions and outcomes.
  4. Ensure audit activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
  5. Collaborate with model developers and business teams to build a risk-aware culture and provide guidance.
  6. Deliver pragmatic insights, findings, and improvement recommendations to stakeholders and governance committees.
  7. Maintain relationships with leadership and regulators to progress strategic model governance.
  8. Advise senior leadership on emerging AI risks and how to manage them.
  9. Maintain strong relationships with the GA&A leadership team, Regulators, and External Audit to gain input and buy-in to strategic initiatives.

Your Experience

We're looking for individuals with:

  1. Hands-on experience in developing, validating, and reviewing models.
  2. Academic background in quantitative fields like engineering, mathematics, quantitative finance.
  3. Strong understanding of the landscape of Artificial Intelligence and model risk management, including local and international regulations.
  4. Proven leadership managing audit teams and projects with model governance focus.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to assess model risks.
  6. Ability to simplify complex model concepts and effectively communicate insights.
  7. Strong project execution skills to deliver across competing priorities.
  8. Relationship management skills to collaborate with stakeholders.
  9. Tertiary Qualifications – hold a tertiary qualification in engineering, finance, or an equivalent business-related discipline.
