Job Title

Affirmative Action Officer - Indigenous Reconciliation

About the Role

This position will drive the implementation of a strategic plan to achieve reconciliation goals through sustainable actions, strong partnerships, and greater cultural understanding.

The successful candidate will contribute to promoting economic and social inclusion by empowering leaders and colleagues to embed reconciliation principles into their day-to-day work.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance reconciliation outcomes.
  • Support delivery of outcomes across the government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with teams and agency counterparts.
  • Design and implement programs that promote cultural awareness, education, and capacity-building for First Nations peoples.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and respect for First Nations cultures, histories, and perspectives.
  • Experience supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives in the workplace.
  • Strong communication, self-management, and interpersonal skills.
