About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in Wyndham. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will deliver best-practice, person-centered support to individuals who use challenging behaviours. You will work collaboratively with people and their support networks to create a vision for a life without restrictions and with positive interactions, activities, and experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver best-practice, person-centered support to individuals who use challenging behaviours.
  • Work collaboratively with people and their support networks to create a vision for a life without restrictions and with positive interactions, activities, and experiences.
  • Ensure all PBS practices and interventions are compliant with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards, NDIS Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support Rules 2018, Services Agreement, and Everyday Independence's Code of Conduct.
  • Use research evidence and professional reasoning when recommending the most appropriate PBS therapy strategies, duration, location, and timing.
  • Identify and develop efficient processes and systems within the delivery of PBS services.
  • Develop effective and strong working alliances with people and their families to identify factors affecting a working alliance and repair breakdowns in a timely way.
  • Enhance the capacity of people to make their own life choices and increase their independence.
  • Approach risk in a positive way to achieve quality of life outcomes, while ensuring that safeguards are in place to maximise the rights of people and protect the most vulnerable.
