About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Environmental Restoration Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical advice to crew leaders, leading hands, and staff on practical completion of maintenance activities and works across a range of public infrastructure assets.

This role is responsible for maintaining council's natural assets, restoring habitat, improving water quality, and reducing the impact of pest plants and feral animals. You will also support local environmental volunteer groups, work programs, community environmental events, and activities.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and restore public infrastructure assets, including natural habitats and ecosystems.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to staff on environmental management practices.
  • Support local environmental volunteer groups and work programs.
  • Oversee bushfire management, coastal, wetland, and wildlife management.

Requirements
  • Certificate IV in Leadership and Management or equivalent qualifications.
  • Certificate IV in Conservation and Land Management, Landscape Ecology, Biology, or other relevant qualification and experience.
  • Accredited chainsaw ticket (Level 2).
  • Agricultural Chemical Distribution Certificate (ACDC).
  • Firefighting supervisor (Vegetation).
  • Current C class manual driver's licence.
  • Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD).
  • First Aid Certificate.
