Electrical Systems Specialist

The role of an Electrical Systems Specialist involves designing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems in control cabinets, panel boards, etc., as well as wiring/rewiring of electrical cabinets and electrical components. Responsibilities include running conduit, writing programs, and installing in PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and install electrical hardware or software, or the electrical wiring of selected devices, in accordance with state and local codes.
  • Perform electrical start-ups of new, used, or modified equipment, generating new or modifying existing operating instructions as it pertains to electrical items.
  • Assist in layout design and troubleshooting of electrical components.
  • Perform calibrations on electrical components when needed, responsible for programming and installation of PLCs, and drawing ladder logic diagrams to match such.
  • Maintain a clean work environment, storing all wire, conduit, raceways, etc. in a safe manner.
  • Responsible for company-issued tools.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in Ladder Logic and programming of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) is necessary.
  • Prior electrical background is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hold a Journeyman's license.
  • Good working knowledge of PLCs and programming is necessary.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude are essential.
