This is a full-time opportunity based in the Southern Region, specifically Wagga Wagga or Northern Victoria.

TIAA's investment management division, Nuveen, stands as a leading global asset manager with expertise across diverse asset classes, including fixed income, equities, and alternative investments. The role of Farmland Analyst involves close collaboration with the Senior Regional Asset Manager to oversee and enhance a portfolio of farmland investments. This includes identifying new acquisition opportunities and implementing value-adding development strategies.

We are looking for a detail-oriented, relationship-focused, and motivated individual eager to learn and advance within our experienced team. Key responsibilities will encompass:

  • Daily asset management and portfolio oversight.
  • Financial reporting and commodity marketing.
  • Farm mapping and maintenance of agricultural data and records.
  • Ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess an undergraduate degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Business, Economics, Commerce, Accounting, Investment, or Management. A background in Horticulture, Viticulture, or Cropping industries, along with 2-4 years of experience in Agribusiness Management, Asset Management, or Investment Management, is preferred. Experience in Horticulture or Viticulture is highly desirable.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel.
  • Financial modeling capabilities and a desire to enhance skills.
  • Basic knowledge of property valuation, farm budgeting, and agronomic systems.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Advanced analytical and financial skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
  • Competence in writing and presenting proposals, reports, and research.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
