Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design of our next-generation network equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating innovative solutions that meet our customers' needs by developing and implementing mechanical designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and managing the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Mechanical Design: Develop and implement mechanical designs for our network equipment, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and performance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with electrical engineers, PCB layout designers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and efficient product development.
  • Design Reviews: Schedule and manage peer reviews of your designs and participate in reviews of other engineers' work.
  • BOM Management: Manage bill of materials (BOM) and product lifecycle management tools (Agile) to ensure efficient product development.
  • Thermal Simulation: Provide 3D models for thermal simulations and PCB design drawings for ECAD design teams.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers and CMs to resolve DFM concerns and ensure smooth manufacturing processes.

Qualifications include:

  • Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Experience: Experience in mechanical design of computer/network equipment designed for data centers is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Knowledge of ECO, BOM, and Deviation processes, as well as Agile experience, is a plus.
  • Software Skills: Familiarity with ProEngineer (PTC Creo) and Mechanica (PTC Creo Simulate) is beneficial.
  • Hands-on Experience: Hands-on experience with tests (shock, vibe, EMC, etc.) and ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds are assets.
