About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and enthusiastic Leisure and Lifestyle Care Service Professional to join our team at McLean Care. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a range of leisure and recreational activities for our residents, including games, crafts, exercise programs, and outings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging activity programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • Collaborate with our care team to ensure seamless delivery of care services and activities.
  • Provide personalized support to residents with dementia and challenging behaviors, focusing on meeting their individual needs and preferences.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of respect and empathy.

Requirements

  • Cert III Individual Support / Cert IV in Leisure & Lifestyle or equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with elderly individuals, utilizing appropriate communication strategies to meet their unique needs and preferences.
  • Understanding of WHS principles, including identification and mitigation of venue-specific risks.
  • Current unencumbered Driver's License.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills and ability to use relevant software programs effectively.
  • 2 Recent Managerial Referees.
  • Police Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience working with the elderly.
  • Experience leading a small team.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute engaging activity programs.
  • Availability to work flexible hours.
  • Demonstrated creativity and proficiency in crafts and arts.
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or in process of obtaining.
