This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team of educators at St George Christian School.

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced VCE English Teacher to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons to secondary students. The ideal candidate will have a strong subject knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver VCE English lessons that cater to the diverse needs of secondary students
  • Assess and provide constructive feedback on student work to support their learning and growth
  • Participate in curriculum development and implementation to ensure high-quality teaching and learning practices
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and collaboration among students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and continuously improve teaching methods
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities to stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in education
  • Undertake other duties as required to support the overall functioning of the school

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor of Education or a postgraduate teaching degree (Master of Teaching)
  • A current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
  • 5 Years of demonstrated teaching experience with a minimum of 3 Years VCE English experience is essential. Experience in VCE English marking will be an advantage.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to effectively communicate English concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Passion for education and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' lives
