Central Australian Aboriginal Congress is seeking a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary team at the Alice Springs Youth Detention Centre. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality primary health care services to young people in detention, working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to address their physical and mental health needs.
About the RoleThis is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position that offers a unique opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young people. As a General Practitioner, you will work within a comprehensive primary health care framework, providing culturally safe and holistic care to our patients. You will be part of a dynamic team that is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of our community.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality primary health care services to young people in detention, including routine check-ups, health assessments, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions.
- Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, psychologists, and social workers, to address the physical and mental health needs of our patients.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that take into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and develop strategies for improving health outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of health education programs and initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles and disease prevention.
