Strategic Financial Leadership Role

This is a key role that requires a strategic financial leader to drive financial outcomes for major business projects, transactions, and investments.

About the Position

The successful candidate will contribute to the company's growth and profitability by providing strategic financial advice on complex projects and transactions.

  • Developing and implementing financial models, structures, and legal frameworks to support strategic planning and drive profitable outcomes.
  • Managing treasury activities, including capital structure, borrowing terms, and long-term debt planning.
  • Working with stakeholders to ensure strong financial governance and effective subsidiary performance.

This role offers an opportunity to influence major investments and strategic decisions that impact Tasmania's energy future.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in leading complex financial transactions and implementing business models and corporate structures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Providing strategic financial advice on complex projects and transactions.
  2. Developing and implementing financial models, structures, and legal frameworks to support strategic planning and drive profitable outcomes.
  3. Managing treasury activities, including capital structure, borrowing terms, and long-term debt planning.
  4. Working with stakeholders to ensure strong financial governance and effective subsidiary performance.
  5. Leading financial modelling and analysis to support strategic planning and drive profitable outcomes.
  6. Offering expert financial advice to senior executives and business leaders.
  7. Identifying and implementing initiatives that improve profitability and drive business growth.
  8. Developing long-term financial forecasts and using technology to improve business performance and streamline operations.

The role requires strong leadership, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in financial modelling, scenario development, and strategic financial forecasting.

They will also have excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions.

Experience leading change in complex, diverse environments is essential.

A qualification in Business, Project Finance, Banking, Commerce, Accounting, or related fields is desirable.

Mastery of commercial acumen and decision-making in dynamic environments is required.
